IDP's Business Communication
courses lead towards the internationally recognised Business
English Certificate (BEC) tests.
BEC tests are available at three different levels - Preliminary,
Vantage, and Higher, and have been developed to establish English
language capability in a business context.
The certificate assesses 'threshold-level' English language
ability up to advanced levels. Available to adults either currently
working or preparing for a business career, each test assesses
speaking, listening,
reading and writing ability to
produce an indication of overall language ability.
BEC tests are recognised by employers and increasingly
recognised by educational institutions. They are available to IDP
students independently of IDP's training courses, although IDP does
employ students' BEC test results as a means of assessing the
effectiveness of Business Communication courses.
